English as a Second Language

We offer classes for adults whose first language is not English. Students in beginning classes learn to speak, listen to understand, read, and write English. Intermediate and advanced students have the opportunity to improve conversation, grammar, pronunciation, reading and writing.

Summer 2026 ESL Registration & Session Dates

Registration for summer classes is now open. The last day to register for summer classes is Thursday, June 25. Sign up for orientation and pre-testing for July 1 or 2. Register here!

All students must attend orientation and pre-testing before the summer session begins. Orientation and testing should take one day to complete and you will schedule pre-testing for either July 1 or July 2. Anyone testing after this date will not be able to attend summer classes.

Post-testing is mandatory. All students must post-test during their scheduled appointment date and time (August 24-26).

2026-27 ESL Registration & Session Dates

Registration for fall classes will begin mid-July.

Post-testing is mandatory for each session and will be scheduled after classes end.

Session 1:  Classes begin Tuesday, September 8 and continue through Monday, October 19.  All students must post-test during their scheduled appointment date and time (October 20-22).  

Session 2:  Classes begin Monday, October 26 and continue through Monday, December 14.  All students must post-test during their scheduled appointment date and time (December 15-17).  

Session 3:  Classes begin Monday, January 4 and continue through Monday, March 8.  All students must post-test during their scheduled appointment date and time (March 9-11). 

Session 4:  Classes begin Monday, March 22 and continue through Thursday, May 24.  All students must post-test during their scheduled appointment date and time (May 25-27).

2023-2024 Class Schedule

Spring registration is closed. Register for summer classes below.

Spring classes being January 3 and continue until May 16. However, new students can be added to class every week through the beginning of April. The last day to register for spring classes is March 29. Most classes are in-person, but there are limited virtual classes for higher level students. Students must be tested prior to beginning class. Once our office receives your application, a staff member will contact you regarding signing up for testing. Testing is available at various locations throughout St. Louis County and will take two days to complete.
