​​​​​​​​​​​​​​BablerWiLD offers outdoor education programs for youth and families.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​BablerWiLD is a science and nature-based day camp located in Babler State Park offering many opportunities for children in grades pre-K through 8th grade.  Whether you are looking for something to fit into a busy summer schedule, enjoy exploring the outdoors, or are looking for a great way to meet new friends, BablerWiLD has something for everyone!

BablerWiLD Staff

Our BablerWiLD Camp Staff have a heart for working with kids and include​​s a mix of returning counselors as well as counselors new to BablerWiLD. They teach kids, tell jokes, fix scrapes, scare the bugs away, give hugs and make sure campers have an experience they will never forget! Our entire camp staff, from counselors to cooks, is employed by the Rockwood School District, participate in background checks and are committed to providing campers with a safe and healthy experience. The staff to camper ratio is 1:8 or less. Camp staff are trained in accordance with American Camp Association standards.

WiLD Outdoor Weeks - Full Day Camps

June 7-11| June 14-18| June 21-25 | June 28 - July 2 | July 6-19 | July 12-16 | July 17-23 | July 26-30 |  August 2-6

Unleash your adventurous side, connect with nature, make new friends, and have a blast as you focus on outdoor exploration.  BablerWiLD Outdoor Weeks are designed to encourage campers to jump in and learn about nature firsthand through daily exploration and discovery.  Each week is dedicated to a theme and all activities such as crafts, hikes, games, science experiments, outdoor skills, team building activities, and environmental lessons are focused around that theme.  ​

  • ​For youth entering grades K-6 in the fall
  • Camp time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.​ Monday - Friday (except for Red, White, and WiLD).
  • Bring a non-refrigerated sack lunch
  • Bring a snack, water bottle, and sunscreen
  • Rockwood School District's mask guidelines will be followed

Summer Camp Classic | June 7 - 11 

Location:  Babler Outdoor Education Center
Get ready for a classic camp experience! Get outside, meet new friends and join us for a week filled with our favorite camp activities. From Gaga ball to creek walks, crafts, songs, and so much more. There is something for everyone during this week of BablerWiLD summer.

H2O So Fun! | June 14 - 18

Location:  Babler Outdoor Education Center
Think beyond the pool this summer and join us for some water fun! Cool down with water activities all week. Race a boat, get messy with water Olympics, hit the slip n slide, and get ready for some water fun BablerWiLD style!

All About Animals | June 21 - 25

Location:  Babler OEC outpost
From bugs to bunnies, and beyond…there is something for every animal lover during this week of camp. Learn first-hand about the animals around us and the environments where they live! This week will also include special presenters to provide hands-on experiences!

Throwback Week | June 28 - July 2

Location: Babler OEC outpost
Camp has been changing as long as it has been around. Enjoy games that campers would have played in the 60s 70s 80s and more. Every day will feature a new decade full of new old games!

Red, White & WiLD | July  6 - 9

Location: Babler OEC Outpost
Celebrating being outside and having fun! Learn favorite American classic hobbies with an outside twist like making hotdogs using the heat from the sun, tie-dying, and lawn games.

Olympics | July 12 - 16 

Location: Babler OEC Outpost
The Olympics come once every four years. Join us as we celebrate the 2021 Olympics! You will compete for a country, earn medals, and see who has the most Olympic spirit.

Where the WiLD Things Are | July 19 - 23

Location: Babler OEC Outpost
Investigate nature each day! Flip over a rock, see the inside of a tree, learn to use camouflage, and join us for an outdoor adventure you will never forget!

Outdoor Arcade | July 26 - 30 

Location: Babler OEC Outpost
Do you play games on a computer, tablet, or game system? Now you can play those same games, no electronics needed! Join BablerWiLD as we bring some of our favorite video games to life! From classic games like Mario Kart to new favorites like Minecraft, put down the tablets and join us for some outdoor fun!

Super Heroes | August 2 - 6 

Location: Babler OEC Outpost
If you have always dreamed of being a superhero now is your chance! Practice your superhero skills as you learn to fly, create your own bat-signal, and break the secret code.


SummerBlast - August 9-12

Get ready for more SummerBlast fun and adventure with a twist as you’ll head to beautiful Babler State Park for art, aquatics at the outdoor pool, enrichment, sports and more! Choose from convenient drop off/pick up locations and ride the bus to beautiful Babler State Park

  • Drop-off time is between 7:30-8 a.m.  Camp runs until 4 p.m. Pick-up time is between 4-5:30 p.m. (more details will be provided prior to start of camp)
  • You must register for the entire week (registration per day is not an option).
  • Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and snacks each day.
  • For students entering grades1 - 6 in the 2021-22 school year
  • Rockwood School District's mask guidelines will be followed

WiLD Half Day Skills - Half-Day Classes  

Venture to Babler State Park for some fun while learning great skills and having fun in our Half Day Skills Classes.  This is a great opportunity to try out some classic outdoor activities like archery or fishing.  Many classes include the option of a morning or afternoon session.  

  • ​For youth entering grades 4-8 in the fall
  • Camp time: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. or 1-4 p.m.
  • Transportation options: Parent drop off/pick up; bus transportation is not available
  • Before/aftercare is not available.
  • Rockwood School District's mask guidelines will be followed

Archery - August 16 or 17

Learn to shoot a bow and arrow under the close supervision of the BablerWiLD staff. This class is designed for beginners with minimal experience and all equipment is provided. No outside equipment will be allowed.

Outdoor Skills - August 18

Learn first hand what it takes to light a fire and build a survival shelter. This is a great introduction to some important survival skills!

Fishing - August 19

Cover the basics and let’s go fishing! Participants will learn to bait a hook, use a bobber, and cast a closed face reel. Fishing poles and bait will be provided. No outside equipment will be allowed.
