The Babler Outdoor Education Center (OEC) is a flexible space designed for individuals, families, and groups to connect with nature and enjoy hands-on learning experiences. Visitors can rent the facility (or specific parts of it) for their own events, or simply spend the day exploring through a field trip, scout outing, birthday party, or group activity. Our staff of outdoor educators is available to guide participants through a wide variety of programs that bring the outdoors to life.

For those who want the best of both worlds, the OEC offers the option to rent the facility while also taking advantage of our expert-led programs. Whether you’re planning a private retreat or looking for a guided adventure, the Babler Outdoor Education Center is here to help you make the most of your time outdoors.

Organized groups may request use of the Babler Outdoor Education Center (Babler OEC) through our application process as follows:

  1. Organized groups may request use of the Babler OEC by submitting a request using the link below. All requests will be confirmed via email by our Community Education staff.
  2. Requests for the current calendar year are open and ongoing. While groups will be able to view available dates once your account is created, please note that some dates will not be available due to facility maintenance.
  3. Requests for the next calendar year will be accepted beginning August 1 of the previous calendar year for groups that serve individuals with disabilities or severe illness. All other requests will be accepted beginning October 1 of the previous calendar year. Requests will be considered based on the eligibility/priority of the user group and the order in which they were received.

Groups are encouraged to contact the Babler OEC office to schedule a tour of the facility after an account is created and dates are requested. Groups are responsible for reading and following all policies and procedures prior to and during their stay.

Once the submitted group request is approved, a 25% deposit of estimated usage fees will be required.

To cancel a reservation, please notify Community Education immediately at info@prcommunityed.org. Deposits will be refunded with a 60-day written notice, with no deposit being given for less than 60 days' notice. Cancellation within 30 days of reservation will require payment of full usage costs according to estimated numbers provided in the request.
